Our Story
A heart to rescue
Wilkes Wags & Wiggles started from a mother and daughter’s compassion for rescuing and rehoming dogs from animal shelters and providing them with their fur-ever home. During their years of fostering, they both learned the importance of pet care boarding, including the different anxiety levels that a pet can experience. Thus, grew the desire to provide a service where your pet can feel comfortable, safe, and most importantly, happy while they’re away from home. With over 6 years of professional experience in the doggy daycare and boarding industry, as well as 16 years in corporate business development and management, this mother-daughter duo is fully equipped to provide a unique and much needed service to the community. The first dog care facility opened in February 2023 in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
Takira
Rescued from a pitbull fighting ring, Takira changed the world with her love for humans and her infamous army crawl. She loved road trips and was always along for the adventure. Her smile will fur-ever remain in our hearts. Rainbow bridge 10/31/2005 - 8/4/2014
RoKu
The love story of Takira and Kadaj (pictured above). RoKu was quite the stud and had an athletic ability like no other. He captivated you with his pittie stare and was the coolest roll dawg. His smile will fur-ever remain in our hearts. Rainbow bridge 4/2/2011 - 12/11/2018
